Helping a homeless charity lay solid foundations

The Burton and District YMCA are a charity committed to providing a supportiveand safe environment for the vulnerable and homeless of East Staffordshire. Focusing on critical foundations such as safe accommodation, education, practicaland emotional support in the form of mediation and counselling, Burton YMCA assistyoung people to foster their potential and have a better quality of life.

Burton YMCA approached BXD for a solution regarding their expanding and busy foodbank. Having urgent need for additional space and no idea how to provide it with a tight budget, they considered renting off-site, requiring space without permanent building work. BXD provided a solution to the lack of space for foodbank provision by gifting a container unit. This was delivered directly to the site, enabling Burton YMCA to quickly achieve their goals and meet the additional demands for emergency food parcels.Paula Senior, Fundraising and Partnerships Manager, says,

BXD are a local company with a great reputation. Our needs were met 100%. We were so grateful for the support provided to meet our space needs. We then went on to purchase a container the following year – no issues at all, every engagement has been professional and efficient.

When asked whether BXD’s product and service aligned with their expectations, Paula replied that it exceeded expectations, and that they are extremely likely to continue working with us in the future. Indeed, BXD and Burton YMCA have now collaborated on several events, including a charity cricket match and a reverse advent calendar container.
